Your main objection categories -Traffic Congestion, Highways, and Road Safety
Your main objection sites – Wellhouse Lane, Hepworth Drive, Crossley Lane, Greenside Road, Old Bank Road. Please note, the following two points are also very important:-
1. Mirfield residents are very seriously concerned about our town and its future – for the present and future generations. People do accept development must happen but this must be done at the right time and in the right areas.
2. The infrastructure in Mirfield is straining ‘under the weight’ of an already well established population within and the surrounding areas. Mirfield’s highway infrastructure cannot cope with the existing volumes of traffic. let alone any additional burden created; there are only three ways out of Mirfield and at times the whole of Mirfield becomes static – infrastructure before housing!

Stage 1 28-4-14 It is now quite apparent Kirklees are hell bent on annihilating our green open spaces with their insular views that Mirfield needs more houses.
Bellway homes have submitted plans to build on Balderstone Hall Fields to the Kirklees planning department, but by definition this site is not now or ever will be sustainable – for those in Kirklees planning let me remind you what this means page (i) of the NPPF: – ‘Sustainable means ensuring that better lives for ourselves don’t mean worse lives for the future generation’ – this one statement of the NPPF speaks a thousand words
Project Mirfield are now planning a Major Demonstration to object against the NONE Sustainable over Development of Mirfield we urge residents, and other groups to join with us on the day
