Calculations based on Residential, not commercial: if we take a 3 bed Semi-detached house with 85m2 floor area as a bench mark.

Carbon Usage per year

Electricity KWH 6,351 co2 kg 3,411

Gas KWH 24.406 co2 kg 4.515

Transport co2 kg 4.42

12.346 kg   = just under 12.500 tonne

By taking the number of households in Mirfield: 8,520 based on bed Semi-detached house with 85m2 floor area as a bench mark.

Electricity usage per year KWH 6,351 convert in to co2 = 3,411kg x 8,520 = 29.061 tonnes of CO2 per year.

Gas usage per year KWH 24.406 convert in to co2 = 4.515kg x 8520 =38.467 tonnes of CO2 per year.

Transport co2 kg 4.42 x 8520 =  37.658 tonnes of CO2 per year

For our essential energy requirements for cooking, heating, hot water, Lighting, and our transport needs, Mirfield produces, and pumps in to the atmosphere 105.186 tonnes of Carbon CO2 per year

For every new home built we can add 12.500 tonne to Mirfield Carbon foot print.
