Please ‘open your mind’ to the idea of offering to purchase Balderstone Hall Lane field, Mirfield – the field is also known as the field off Woodward court, Mirfield.
The field is by any definition of the word agricultural land only: not building land and never has been. Let’s say for argument sake we have engineered an alterative for the future of the land which will not upset the current status quo of the surrounding area. It would be torturous for the local residents and the school if this development went ahead, for the duration of the build and non- sustainable for present and future generations.

Dear Mr Jones
RE: LAND OFF HEPWORTH LANE/BALDERSTONE HALL LANE, MIRFIELD
The local residents of Mirfield are keen to acquire the above fields and therefore would like to make a purchase offer of £125,400.00 (£11,000.00 x 11.4 acres), which is above the average area price for agricultural land for 2014.
We look forward to hearing from you.
The reply from Bellway Homes, word for word
Dear Mr Benson
Thank you for your email with the offer to buy our land at Mirfield Unfortunately the land is not for sale. If our position ever changes in the future we will contact yourself.
Where does this leave us now? This is the first stage of our offer to Bellway homes for the land, but in the meantime Project Mirfield will be objecting on the grounds that we have shown Kirklees we are very serious about the development and will not accept the torturous conditions for the local residents if this development goes ahead.
